Tracking and delivery help

Answers for the most common UPS shipment questions. For a live package, enter the tracking ID on the home page.

What does each tracking status mean?

Label created means UPS has the electronic shipment. Picked up is the first physical scan. In transit covers hub-to-hub movement. Out for delivery means a courier has the package for that day’s route. Delivered is the final scan, often with a photo or signature.

How long are tracking numbers active?

Most Express and Ground numbers remain searchable for 90 days after delivery. International services may retain history longer for customs inquiries.

Can I change the delivery address?

Use Manage Delivery on the tracking page before the shipment reaches the destination facility. Hold at Location and neighbor delivery are available on eligible residential services.

Where is proof of delivery?

When a shipment is delivered, the tracking page shows the scan time, any signature, and a delivery photo when the courier captured one.
